Batch Output Settings

Show/Hide Contents

Various Batch Output options share many of the same features and configuration options, shown to the right.  The top sections (Batch Name and and Destination and Prompt checkbox) and the bottom section (OK and Cancel buttons) are common for all Output tabs contained in the Batch.  The details for each output tab controls the settings and output for that tab.

By having multiple tabs on a single batch, you can create multiple output files with a single action.  This allows you to create small thumbnail images, large web-viewable images, and full size TIF images, for example, with a single click.

Image Type

Output Name & Location

This section controls how Bibble 5 names the files that this batch tab will create.  The dropdown box allows you to choose from any of your preset Rename Formats.  Or, you can type in a custom rename format to specify a new or ad-hoc rename format.  See the section on Rename Formats for details on how to type or configure the Renamer.

Save in subfolder allows you to save images from different tabs in the same batch into different folders.  This allows you to create thumbnails on one tab and save them in a sub-folder named "thumbs" and save full size JPEG images into a separate folder using a single batch.  This folder is specified relative to the overall Batch Destination.

Ask each time for Jon Name - If you use the [jobname] Rename Variable as part of the rename format, this option will cause Bibble to prompt you to choose a jobname each time images are sent to this batch.  With this option un-checked, Bibble will remember the last Job Name used by this batch when additional images are sent to the same batch.

Overwrite existing output files - Allows the batch to replace existing files with the same name as those being created with this batch.

Image Size

This section allows you to alter the size of your output image, and to choose scaling quality.

Batch-options-size

Normal / Proof - Select the quality for scaling the image.  Proof Quality is faster for images scaled down (smaller that the original image) and will output images half-height, and half-width of the original image.
Do Not Resize - The output image will have the same pixel dimensions as the original image file.
Resize Width/Height - The output image will be resized to fit within the specified dimensions. Enter a maximum pixel Width and pixel Height in the boxes to the right.
Resize Long/Short - The output image will be resized to fit within the specified dimensions. Enter a maximum value in pixels for the long and short edge of the output image in the boxes to the right.

NOTE: Long/Short resizing allow you to specify a non-square bounding box that the output image will be fit into, regardless of the landscape/portrait formatting of the image.

Do not enlarge - Just like Resize to Fit, except that small images will not be expanded to fit the specified dimensions.

NOTE: See the topic on Image Size for additional details.
