Managing Versions & Image Files Bibble 5 allows you to fully manage your image files and versions within Bibble. Move, Copy, Rename, and Delete one or more versions at a time to get organized. It's simple to move or copy images or folders from one folder to another - simply drag images from the Thumbnail Panel to the folder you want to move the images to. Dragging a Version or Master will Move the image to the chosen location, while holding down Control or Command while dragging will Copy the image. The Move and Copy actions have slightly different behaviors depending on how your images were imported and if you are moving a Master Version or Version, and the table below explains these differences. Note that some Move operations will move your Master Files on your File System.
Renaming Versions To rename one or more Versions:
The following Rename Dialog window will open:
The Rename Dialog has the following other controls and features:
See the section on Rename Formats for details. Removing images is as simple as selecting the ones you want to remove, and pressing the 'delete' key or right-clicking and selecting Versions -> Remove Versions. Note: When Multi-View is enabled, only the single Active Version will be removed, not the entire selection. If you select one or more Master Versions, you'll be presented with the following confirmation:
Removing a Master Versions removes all other versions derived from this same Master File. This confirmation box reminds you of this, and allows you to change your mind if this isn't what you want to do. A Check box on this dialog allows you to choose to delete the selected Master Files from your computer. If you only want to remove the version from Bibble while leaving it on your computer, choose cancel. Deleting Duplicate Versions If you press "Delete' when you have selected only duplicate Versions in the thumbnail Panel without selecting Master Versions, then these versions will be removed from Bibble without asking for confirmation. If you accidentally delete Versions with Bibble 5, you can undo that deletion by pressing CTRL+Z or select Edit -> Undo, if you notice this deletion while you are still running Bibble 5. Bibble 5 uses your computer's Recycle Bin or Trash Can when deleting Master Files. This allows you to recover files deleted with Bibble 5 even after quitting Bibble 5. However, this also means that deleting files in Bibble 5 WILL NOT immediately restore disk space, because the files are still on your computer or memory card. Please 'Empty Trash' using your operating system's built-in tools to recover disk drive space after deleting images in Bibble 5. Managing Catalogs Using more that one Catalog Using multiple catalogs allows you to keep groups of images stored together into logical groups, allowing you to store, backup, and work with sections of your images at a time without needing to access or open the rest of your Library. Using multiple catalogs is simple, and by breaking your Catalogs into smaller groups, allows searching, browsing, editing, and other asset management tasks to proceed more quickly, while still allowing you to access all your images at once. . Right-Click inside the Catalogs Panel, and select Catalog -> New Catalog, or select File -> New Catalog from the menu You will be presented with a dialog asking for a new, empty folder in which to create your new Catalog. Click the 'New Folder' button and create a new folder anywhere on your computer, then select that new folder and click 'OK'.
