Metadata in Output Images

Metadata assigned in Bibble 5 can be passed along to output images, making the output images searchable with the metadata you assigned.  By default, all EXIF and IPTC metadata is passed along to output images.  Pick & Reject indicators are not part of either the EXIF or IPTC Standards, and as such these are not included in output files.

Keywords are included in the IPTC Standard, but have restrictions on the length and structure of the Keywords.

IPTC Keywords must each be 64 characters or less in length.  Keywords longer than this will be truncated.
IPTC Keywords are not structured into Hierarchies, while Bibble 5 Keywords can be structured this way.  When converting from a Bibble 5 Keyword Hierarchy to an IPTC flat Keyword list, Bibble 5 will attempt to flatten your Hierarchy by replacing the Hierarchy Separator with a semi-colon. As an example, the Bibble 5 Keyword:

       Scenes -> Outdoors -> Mountains

Would be converted into the three IPTC keywords:

       Scenes, Outdoors, Mountains

Bibble 5 also writes out Keyword Hierarchy information into XMP sections in a manner that can be understood by a growing number of applications that also use keyword hierarchies.

Disabling Metadata Output

Each Output Batch can be configured to include or omit metadata in output files. By default, Bibble 5 will include EXIF, IPTC, and Bibble 5-assigned Metadata in all output images.
