Copy & Paste Image Settings

Bibble 5 makes it simple to apply all or some settings from one image to one or more other images.  This allows you to adjust and correct the exposure, color, noise and sharpness and apply metadata and keywords to one image.  Once that image is perfect, copy its settings and paste those settings to as many similar images as you want.  This is a great way to edit and optimize many images very quickly.

The general process therefore, is:

1.Make adjustments to one image
2.Copy all settings or selectively copy only a portion of the settings applied to that image
3.Select one or more images you want to apply those copied settings to
4.Paste the settings to apply the changes to all selected images

Note: The Selective Copy & Paste tools operate very similarly to Presets

Copying Settings

To copy all the settings for the Active Version, simply press CTRL+C, or select Edit->Copy Image Settings.  This copies all settings and all layers from the Active Version.

Selective Copying Settings

To copy only some of the settings for the Active Version, simply press CTRL+SHIFT+C, or select Edit->Copy Selective Image Settings.  The dialog box below, left will appear.  This dialog box allows you to select which adjustments you'd like to copy.  The Basic panel shows the settings separated into groups, and will start out with the groups checked or partially checked.  Checked groups (like Color Adjustment) are those whose settings on the Active Version differ from the default image settings for that Version.  Groups for which some but not all of their settings differ from defaults are partially checked (like Metadata in the example below).

You can enable (check) or disable (uncheck) additional groups - only the checked and partially checked settings will be copied.  To see which items in each group are selected, and the values for the settings to be copied, click the Advanced tab, as shown below, right.

The Select Selective window has the following controls:

Main Layer Basic Tab: Lists groups of settings and has a check box for which groups of settings to copy
Main Layer Advanced Tab: Lists every setting by Group and shows the values that will be copied
Adjustment Layers: Lists all Layers on the image being copied, if any exist
All: Selects every group so that all settings will be copied
None: De-selects all groups so that no settings will be copied
Reset: Resets the group and settings check boxes to values that appeared with the dialog first opened
OK: Copies the selected settings to the clipboard
Cancel: Exits without copying any settings to the clipboard

Copy Sets

Copy Sets allow you to pre-determine which types of settings to copy, and to assign a hotkey to that Set.  So for example, you can assign CTRL+1 to copy

Pasting Settings

Once settings have been copied onto the clipboard, simply select the images you want to apply those settings to, then press CTRL+V or select Edit->Paste Settings.  All of the settings that were copied to the clipboard will be applied to all selected Versions.
